My story (so far…)
Hello! Welcome to Belle’s Barn and thanks for coming to have a look. I’m Isabelle, and I hand make wooden wick candles, soy wax melts, luxury reed diffusers and other home fragrance products from my home in North Somerset.Â
I am mum to three kids and in 2021, after eight years of being a stay-at-home mum, I decided to take the plunge and start a handmade gift business. So I walked away from the more ‘sensible’ options for making an income, in favour of something I love and that could bend around the chaos of family life. It was utterly terrifying, but here I am!
I have always loved fragrance. I am so intrigued by how different smells can take you back to a particular place or evoke memories from things you’d long forgotten. Developing the scent range for Belle’s Barn has been so much fun. I really hope you’ll find something in it that makes you smile.
The vision was to create high quality fragrance products that are affordable and gift-able. I’m a busy mum and am often looking for easy gifts to give. I don’t have the budget for some of the big names but don’t want to compromise on quality. So I got to work on my very own handmade gift business.
Eco friendly Packaging
But as I looked more closely at the industry, I was shocked by the packaging! So much of what I saw used single-use plastic for wax melts and glossy packaging for candles that would end up in landfill. So, my vision remained, but I committed from the outset to fully recyclable, yet still beautiful packaging. And I’m really, really passionate about it! Not a single-use piece of plastic in sight!
My products are all handmade by me in small batches, with love, care and attention poured into each and every one. They have been rigorously tested to ensure they will fill your room with your chosen fragrance. I only use high quality soy wax, which is known for its eco credentials. My fragrance oils are cruelty and paraben-free and carefully selected for fantastic scent throw.
